As part of COP-29 in Baku, an event titled "SustainabITALY, the Italian proposal for a greener future" was organized by OICE in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Baku, the ITA - Italian Trade Agency in Rome and Azerbaijan and Ance with the support of the Ministero delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti. COP-29 is a pivotal opportunity to accelerate action to tackle the climate crisis and the Italian consulting and engineering can contribute to advance concrete solutions.
As OICE Vicepresident for Energy transition Fabio Pinton said in the opening remarks, Italian engineering companies are working to address climate mitigations, adaption and resilience in their projects worldwide. alfredo ingletti, president-elect of FIDIC - International Federation of Consulting Engineers, presented how the international Federation as Consulting engineering community is committed to facing the urgency of the climate crisis.
After the presentations of Marco Forzini and Aldo Bellone, a keynote speech of Alfredo Storto, head of cabinet of the minister Matteo Salvini, followed presenting the Italian effort to climate change adaption plans in the Infrastructures and construction sector.
The event, moderated by Amedeo Scarpa and Marco Ragusa, concluded with an interesting round table focused on Italian best practices and projects around the world designing and planning sustainable Infrastructures (3TI Progetti, MAIRE, Politecnica, Seingim, TECHNITAL S.p.A., IRD Engineering).
OICE and Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan – AZPROMO signed an important MoU to facilitate International standards and promote cooperation among companies from both countries for sustainable projects in the region. On November 18th, Francesco Ventura, OICE board member for environment, had delivered a speech within an event dedicated to cities and territories and the new designing standards for climate change.
